#SmittenForSitton: Our Engagement Parties

I feel like people at this point are probably like.. ‘We get it! You’re engaged!’ but we have so many friends and family (how did we get so lucky?!) that it’s taken us two full weeks to celebrate with everyone! I’m so happy and excited that I get to share and document this journey with you guys and I’m convinced these engagement parties will be one of my favorite memories ever.  (& even if you are sick of our engagement, these two outfits are some of my faves for Spring. I linked everything at the bottom for you!)

Shortly after RJ proposed he told me he had been talking to my friends about when and how he was going to do it so they would be involved and able to come over that day to celebrate. However, one of my best friends lives in Memphis and since he proposed on a Sunday (read the full story here!!she wasn’t able to make it to the celebration! BUT he told me she had already started planning an engagement party for us that upcoming weekend!!

What do you get when you have 11 bridesmaids, including a wedding planner and a professional videographer/photographer and 9 other girls who love details, party planning, decorating and cooking– the most amazing engagement party ever!

In one week, they put together a great night for us and everyone there. We had mini chicken tacos, a sausage plate and drinks followed by late night Krystal’s. We danced, we played games and we had the most adorable Photo Booth [℅ Southern Class Events].  As an extra bonus my Mom and StewDad were able to come in town for the weekend and we got to look at wedding venues as well! We may or may not have found ours!!

I wore this lacey, delicate, romantic tunic to our party. To me it screams romance and is perfect for a bridal function or date night. I had my eye on this piece for months and finally decided I HAD TO HAVE IT and I’ve worn it 6 times at least since then. I’m on the shorter side (I’m 5’4”) and I can wear it as a dress. If I am wanting to look a little more reserved I pair it with tights or leather leggings. Also, it is sheer so I wear this seamless slip dress under it when I’m not wearing pants with it, if I am I can just wear a regular tank top or lace bralette.

When I really thought it couldn’t get any better, we went to Memphis to visit my family. My MelMom had planned the most gorgeous, family dinner celebration. It was so nice being able to spend the entire weekend with RJ and all my siblings + play with all the adorable pups (my Dad and MelMom have a 14 week Great Dane pup that is already as big as our 3 year old Golden!). Saturday night we had a private room at Capital Grille in Memphis, not only was the food and atmosphere absolutely perfect, seeing all my grandparents and family together was one of my favorite things ever!

I really just wanted to thank everyone so much for all the kind words and warm wishes. I am so excited to be on the path to Wife Life and I think it’s finally starting to sink in that we’re actually getting married!!
