One of my absolute favorite parts of blogging is creating new styles and combinations of clothes to achieve the perfect look. One of my favorite compliments to receive is ‘Oh my, I love that outfit. I would have never thought to put those pieces together!’. To me that is the most perfect compliment because it means I’m doing my job well. I consider every blog post and Instagram a little piece of personal styling but I wanted to do more.. that’s when I decided to start Styles by Riles.
I created Styles by Riles to personalize my blogging for you as an individual. I can help you find outfits for a special event (think rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, honeymoons, vacations, etc.), I can help you revamp your entire wardrobe (closet make over, evaluation of clothes you own, clothing staples, etc.), personal shopping one on one and more! I believe when you look great, you feel great and when you feel great, you achieve greatness and I believe every woman has the right to look great.
Today I wanted to share with you an engagement shoot I styled.
I met Natalie a couple of years ago but we hadn’t seen each other since. She reached out to me a few months after her engagement, she had been so busy planning her wedding she had no time to search for any engagement shoot looks.
I start out by asking about her engagement, (I live for the details in every love story!) and asked her about her wedding planning so far. I learned about the theme of the wedding, the style of the couple and her dream vision.
I asked her to send me any photos she has seen of inspiration, pins she has pinned to her Pinterest page, or pieces she may already have in mind. We discussed her budget and the location + date of the shoot. We also discussed styles she loves or hates.
I originally send her a list of over 30 options and ask her to narrow the choices down to five or six outfits. If she fell in love with anything but feels it out of her price range, I looked for similar options. After we had the outfit bases, we moved on to the fun part, accessories!
I sent a list of accessories and which outfit or outfits I think they would pair best with. I tried to pick personalized pieces that will not only remind her of her engagement for years and years to come but also be incorporated into her everyday outfits once the wedding planning is over.
Once we had every outfit finalized, she placed the order. I included coupon codes or sales that are currently happening so she pays the lowest price possible for every item. Once she received all her pieces we scheduled an in person consultation to try on every outfit! (If you live out of the Tennessee area, I can travel to you or we can have a style consultation via Skype!)
In the three weeks I worked with Natalie styling her engagement shoot we became best friends. It is such a fun time of your life and I want to make everything as easy and fun for the bride as possible! I will not stop searching until you are 100% happy with all of your looks and it saves the Bride countless hours of worrying.
