Today kicks off the beginning of a Spring Transition series on C&C! We all know I’m 1,000% ready for some warmer weather (I think my life motto is when we pack up Christmas, let’s pack up Winter too). Yesterday I remembered one con that comes with the sunshine days..
Bugs. Mainly crickets.
I hate, hate, HATE crickets more than anything in the world. It all leads back to when I was about eleven and I accidentally unleashed 300 crickets in our playroom. I’m getting shivers just thinking about it. I was just crying, standing on a chair in a playroom, screaming for my mom. It was awful.
Luckily I now have a dog who eats crickets (& shockingly it’s not the 95lb Golden Retriever, he’s a baby!). Now whenever I see a bug, I can scream bug and Doodle comes running to the rescue! Yesterday I was in the shower when I spotted a cricket hanging out on our shower liner.. a few minutes later, Doodle was in the shower and ate the cricket.
Moral of the story: Transitioning into spring with bugs is not fun, but transitioning your wardrobe is.
Nothing helps cure my Spring fever like a fun, colorful printed piece. I knew I had to have these two Cuddy Studios tops when I saw them. They follow my three shopping rules (1. Is it adorable 2. Is it Versatile 3. Can I live without it? Yes, Yes & No).
Now I just needed to pair them with the right pieces while the temps are still a little cool.
I’m doing a full round up of Spring basics soon (think mix n’match neutrals & must have pieces for every budget) but until then I wanted to share one way I dress for Spring when it’s feeling Winter-ish. LAYERS & BRIGHTS!

Cold Shoulder Top [℅] // Perfect if you’re looking to rock the off the trend look but are nervous to dive in head on. This top is easy, comfortable and adorable. All I need now is a tan!
Flare Jeans // Under $60 & SO CUTE! My favorite pair of denim. They’re so soft and the price tag is amazing. They work year round and are a closet must have.
Pink & Purple Geometric Top [℅] // The material in this top is so soft, it almost feels like luxury pajamas. This top is perfect for every woman because it pairs so well with everything from cut off denim shorts to adding a pop to a black pants suit.
White Denim // The pair I’m wearing above is so soft. I’ve never had a pair of white jeans I loved more. I’ll be doing a full Spring denim guide for you next week.
Blazer *3 Colors // Blazers, leather jackets, denim jackets.. these are all great ways to layer your way into spring. The bright pink pop is so fun but I also love a crisp white blazer.
If you’re looking to cure your Spring Fever but it’s too cold for tank tops and denim shorts, my advice is to reach for bright accessories, bright tops and white denim. If it’s cooler in the morning, grab a light jacket and layer! Fun prints is also a great way to get out of your winter funk!
