Shopping is fun. Maybe you’re out shopping with friends, your sister or your mom, maybe it’s for a special occasion, you’ve been saving money for something specific or you’re looking for a little reward after a long day. To me there is something even better than shopping –finding a new way to wear one of your favorite pieces.

For as long as I can remember, one of my ‘happy places’ is my closet. I love trying new combinations of outfits, finding new ways to wear something or even cutting up an old top or skirt to make it something new (yes I spent many days hearing my Mama yell at me about that one growing up!) but I just love the possibility of creating new looks. I think that is why I love pattern mixing SO much.

I know, I know I tell y’all about pattern mixing all the time but it is truly my favorite. I think it’s such a fun way to show your personality and is so great for each season! (Like plaid and polka dots in the winter, floral and gingham in the spring and tropics + leopard for summer!)

I promise not to bore you with more pattern mixing talk but I wanted to invite you to spend a few extra minutes in your closet today. Look at all your pieces and think, how could I switch things up? I challenge you to try something unexpected and actually give it a chance! So often I’ll see girls try things on and quickly dismiss it, but adjust how it fits you, maybe tuck it in or add a belt. Try different shoes and accessorize.. you may find your new favorite outfit! And when you’re shopping for something new, think of something unusual you could pair it with.. sure it may look great with your flare jeans or denim shorts but step out of the box and have fun! That’s what style is all about.

Tropical Print Shorts (Old) Similar // Tropical print shorts are so fun for Summer. You can dress them up with a black crop top or dress them down for a backyard barbecue with a white tee. I got this exact pair on sale last year but Show Me Your Mumu has so many more fun prints but the same flattering, comfortable shape.

Leopard Tunic [℅] // Leopard is such a fun print, am I right or am I right? It’s classic but edgy and a little bit of sass rolled into one. The shape of this tunic is everything. It’s loose but not overwhelming and looks perfect with a #HalfTuck or thrown over a bathing suit after a day at the pool.  **Update: This exact tunic is sold out, if you’re looking to recreate this outfit this leopard tunic is almost identical. It is a ‘maternity’ shirt but it will create the same oversized, effortless look as the one I’m wearing! Plus it’s a great price. This leopard top and this one are both adorable as well, but less oversized.

Strappy Heels *10 Colors // Every closet needs a strappy pair of heels, perfect for date night or dressing up your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans. I love the shorter heel on these and the fact that they come in ten colors! **Great to have for wedding season as well, I’ll be doing a huge wedding guest dress guide on the blog soon!

I hope you have a fabulous Tuesday. This afternoon I’m speaking at McCallie School sharing how young men should treat ladies with proper manners and respect! Babe went to McCallie for middle and high school, so it’s exciting to get to visit his old stomping grounds! XO,
