Rainy Days at the (not so) Pumpkin Patch

Embracing Noah’s Ark 2.0 and breaking out my favorite rainboots. This Fall outfit is as cozy as it is cute. When I asked to go the pumpkin patch, this was not what I was expecting.. but how amaze is the mini Chattanooga Walking Bridge?! (Also, Babe took these photos and I’m so impressed by how they turned out!)

Babe can’t work when it’s raining, so we’ve had a lot of free time together this week. Blessing in disguise! He is so used to being at work, he gets antsy at home and disrupts my weekly schedule! I still love being able to spend the extra time with him though & since we have yet to carve pumpkins this year I asked him to go to the Pumpkin Patch. Little did I know growing up on the mountain that ‘Pumpkin Patch’ was completely different from a lot where you buy pumpkins.. it’s just a playground. A very neat playground though & now I’m super jealous of his childhood! If you have kids in Chattanooga I highly recommend checking this one out (when it’s not so rainy!). There was something fun about exploring this playground on a foggy day & there were so many pretty leaves everywhere! Still no pumpkins carved though.. maybe tomorrow?

My rainy day uniform is pretty consistent.. Hunter rainboots, a hat and a raincoat. My raincoat often changes depending on the occasion.. if I’m out running errands I grab my NorthFace rain jacket. It works so well and actually makes my leggings + oversized tee combo look a little more put together. If I’m headed somewhere that I want to look cute or I have a great outfit on, I reach for this hooded utility jacket. I love that it still protects me from the rain but keeps my outfit looking sassy.

When I bought this top I started getting anxious. It didn’t follow my rules! I had only thought of one way to wear it (with leggings.. my go-to move when shopping. Leggings = EVERYTHING) but then I realized this top actually was so versatile and now I’ve already worn it twice. SCORE.  If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this top paired with this suede, scalloped skirt. I’m obsessed with the combo and it was perfect for exploring Asheville. It’s so soft and cozy, a necessity for Fall. I’m so happy I purchased this top because I’ve already thought of about 5 more different ways to wear it, so no buyer’s remorse here! –& Really is there anything better than plaid AND peplum!?

What’s your rainy day uniform? I wish it could be pajamas and a good book every rainy day!
