Hello! The holidays are almost here, and I mean almost! So, what a better time to invite you into our very recently completed modern farmhouse dining room (ok, ALMOST completed).
I’m not going to blabber on too much. I shared a lot of photos, so I’ll let them do the talking. We recently made over this space and I’m very happy with how it turned out. Like I’ve mentioned before, I never put much thought into our dining room until recently. I loved our table but everything else just kind of ended up in here after not working in other spaces in our home. I wanted to actually complete it but still on a budget.
A few trips to IKEA, a good sale day at World Market and a plant that’s (surprisingly) still surviving – it’s almost complete! I do want to paint this room the same color as our trim but I don’t see that happening until 2020. When I was planning our makeover, I had a few things in mind. First, I wanted to be sure I had a way to show off one of my favorite wedding presents (heirloom china from my stepdad’s family, it’s from been passed down since the 1800’s and originated in France! Plus, I love how beautiful it is). I also wanted something sleek, modern but still cozy and intimate. I opted for neutrals, layered textures and adding in character through artwork gifted from one of my best friends.
