Life Lately..

April has been such an exciting, crazy month already. First wedding dress shopping for myself, we also have engagement pictures, my best friend’s wedding and I’m hosting a huge event (more info on that later this week!!). I often post what I’m wearing or doing on Instagram or Snapchat before I get a chance to do a full post on the blog. If you follow along on Instagram (@RileyBrahm), you can always shop my posts here:

Just incase you don’t have an IG or missed a post I love to do a little round up for you guys!

Tuesday is already feeling smoother than Monday. My baby sister is trying out for the competitive pom squad at her middle school (it’s super intense, they are amazing and win nationals every year.) but this is her first year! I was a competitive cheerlead for years, so I know exactly what she’s going through this week. I honestly think my mom and I are more anxious than she is, I’ve had butterflies in my stomach after talking to my mom about try outs this morning!

A little girl time with you guys is exactly what the doctor ordered!

| Mirror | Kiss the Bride Tee *Restocked & On Sale | Fur | Bunny Slippers

I snapped this Saturday morning before heading to Nashville to wedding dress shop! My MelMom gave me this tee in my Easter basket, and I was so excited because I had been crushing on it for months!! I love this little area in our room because it holds all my jewelry, so rather I’m getting dressed for an event or snuggling up in my chair with a great book, it’s the perfect girl corner! The brand of this tee is WildFox, their clothes are SO soft and flattering + the quality is amazing. A bunch of Wildfox pieces are on sale here and I’m trying my best from loading them all in my cart.

| Sweater *On Sale | Shorts | Espadrilles | Tassel Bracelet

Gorgeous spring Sundays in the south call for one thing.. crawfish!! Our favorite place to go in town is called Champy’s. It’s fun, delicious (they’re known for their friend chicken) and a great patio. Their slogan is Forties, Fowl and Friends.. so you always have to get a giant beer! I’m not a huge beer girl but I love any thing citrus-y like Corona or Blue Moon. This sweater is perfect for transitioning to warmer months, you can’t see it here but the sleeves are SO cute.

| Lace Up Heels *3 Colors

So a couple of weeks ago I was town between two pairs of brown lace up heels. The first was this pair in brown, the second was this pair.  I went with the second pair but was still left thinking about the others, when I saw they came out in taupe I knew I had to have them. It was a great buy too because they’re super easy to walk in + I’ve had them a little over a week and already worn them three or four times, they look perfect with everything from semi-formal dresses to dressing up your denim shorts.

| Coffee Table | Fur Rug | Lanterns | Ostrich Tray | Fur Pillow | Custom Dog Portrait | Couch (Similar, Similar

After being in Nashville this weekend, I was happy to come home and snuggle up with all my babies! I slapped on my favorite face mask and spent the evening catching up on our DVR with Babe.

| Tie Dye Clutch [℅] | Sunnies (Dupe) | Marc Jacobs Perfume | Clinique Lipstick | Gladiator Sandals | Tassel Earrings (Similar) | Nail Polish | Dior Lash Primer |

With wedding season approaching in full force, I wanted to share a few beauty must haves to feel my best. These tiny perfumes are perfect to keep in your purse + this clinique chubby stick is great when you don’t want to worry about reapplying lipstick all night. This lash primer works in two ways, first you can leave it on your lashes while you sleep for a conditioning treatment or wear under mascara for a fuller, longer lash (see my full post on it here). This clutch and my gladiator sandals are a comfortable, cute and affordable way to accessorize any outfit.

| Wish You Were Here Hat (Custom Made, Email me to order | Scallop Bikini (Similar) |

I started making these hats when I found one on Pinterest, but there was no link to purchase. <–My number 1 pet peeve! I am going to start an Etsy shop where you can purchase them but in the meantime you can email me to buy one! I have white, tan, black or pink hats + any color sequins + any phrase or last name (super cute for brides to do their future last name!).

| Lace Up Flats *Under $25, 4 Colors | Boyfriend Jeans

These flats were out of stock for so long but they’ve just been restocked in four adorable colors, including this pale pink! I love these because they’re perfect for any occasion and so comfortable. My jeans are some of my favorites as well!

| Patio Couch | Kate Spade Mug

With Spring here, we love to spend as much time outside as we can! The dogs love to run in the backyard & I love having this couch to lounge on while Babe grills or for my morning coffee. I want to grab an outdoor rug to pull the area together but haven’t been able to find the right one yet. I’ll have a full post on outdoor spaces once it’s complete!

| Shorts | Tee | Ballet Flats

A couple of weeks ago we went to lunch and antique shopping on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. I don’t know what it is about Sundays but I always want ice cream! We ended the day with a peanut butter chocolate creation from cold stone and a walk on the pier!

Say a little prayer for my sister if you get the chance! I get so nervous she won’t make the team and I don’t want it to break her little 13 year old heart. We find out Thursday so I will basically be holding my breath until then! Have a great rest of your day!

Life Lately

I cannot believe it’s been so long since I did an Instagram round up for you guys!? Life moves fast and I am constantly playing catch up.. I hope this is something about my age. I think hope twentysomething’s are just constantly moving and going, always feel like they have so much to do and never actually finishing all of it? Maybe that’s just life. Who knows! Anyway.. the easiest way to shop my IG’s is by signing up for LiketoKnow. It but if you don’t have an IG or you don’t want to use it I like to link everything for you guys on here! I hope you enjoy!

Do you want know the closet thing to Heaven on Earth? Cupcake. ATM. Yup, it’s a real thing.. 24/7 you can withdraw the most delicious cupcakes from an ATM machine. Obviously we had to test it out while in NYC. Obsessed. [Ps. I found a dupe of my favorite Prada Sunnies and they’re only $20!]

I picked up a little hitchhiker while in NYC. This red baby has been the apple of my eye for a while now but each trip to the Gucci store was cut short by Babe’s control (THANKFULLY.. I have no self control when it comes to shopping obvi). Since he wasn’t traveling with me for Fashion Week there was no holding back! I love a red bag for Fall and Christmas time but I know I’ll be able to carry this timeless classic year round. I’ve linked this one as well as similar, budget friendly options as well.

During the week I love to wear my glasses #FourEyes, I’m so blind it’s insane! Girls always want to try on my frames but my prescription is so strong they can’t even get them all the way on before they start feeling dizzy. Braids are my favorite way to style my hair when I’m trying to avoid heat damage, follow me in Pinterest for more braid-spiration.

Sorry Babe, I’m having a love affair with camo this Fall. HA! It’s the most fun neutral and pairs perfectly with almost anything. You could dress it up with a gold shimmer tee or make it fun by pairing with a pattern!

I love interior design, my favorite tip is to take your time. I originally had a desk and shelf unit here but I realized the shelves looked so much better in our den and the vanity made so much sense here so I mixed it all up! Dallas is a huge fan to have a new chair to lounge in. I’m using my vanity to keep my jewelry and headbands. My favorite places to shop for jewelry are Baublebar, Kendra Scott and J. Crew. I snagged this starburst mirror from Hobby Lobby for $20 and the painting for $7 (–a miracle I know!) but I also found the mirror online for you here

Nothing fells more Fall than stocking up on my favorite fall scents. Currently burning: Southern Pecan Pie for the Farmer’s Market. I’m also loving these, the pumpkin and oatmeal cookie are to DIE. Bean Boots are a Fall necessity. They’re perfect for everyday wear and are so great to have in the rain or snow.

| Bean Boots *Size Down | Fall Candle |

More shoes! Is there anything better than being a woman and having the ability to wear the most gorgeous shoes?! I am such a sucker for shoes. My dream is to have a giant closet lined with shelves and shelves of shoes. A lot of people steer away from leopard flats because they think they won’t be able to wear them a lot but that is so wrong! Wear all black with a pop of leopard for a chic look.. pair with camo skinnies for a fun pattern play, throw on with a cozy sweater for instant glam!

| Leopard Tory Burch Flats, Budget Friendly Version |

We’re huge Cowboys Fans here and had a few friends over Sunday night to watch the game. I decided to try out a new Sangria recipe and it was a huge hit! It was super easy + super Fall and I need an excuse to whip out my new Halloween glasses. 🙂

I picked up this Grey Moto Jacket from Anthro last week and I’ve already worn it 6 or 7 times. I love the structure of it and that it resembles a leather jacket but the sleeves are similar to sweatshirt material- SO COZY. It also comes in Olive which was hard to resist, I almost brought two home!

Apple Cider Sangria

Makes a large bowl full (About 12-15 servings)

750 ml of Cinnamon Whisky

64 oz of Apple Cider

1 Bottle of Pinot Grigio

2 Apples

1 Bottle of Club Soda

Cinnamon Sticks to Garnish

1. Chop Apples into cubes, place in large bowl

2. Pour in Cinnamon Whisky and soak for 2 hours or more

3. Add in the Pinot Grigio, Club Soda and Apple Cider & Stir

4. Pour into a glass, add in a few apple cubes and garnish with cinnamon stick!

The Sangria is great for a party because it makes so much! Please let me know what you think if you try it out.

I’m so excited for a new series that’s launching this week, so stay tuned! I’m also going to be sharing Fall/Winter wedding attire tomorrow and I’m going to be giving my Mail Subscribers a special treat (Hint, hint: Anthropologie!) later this week so make sure you sign up

Life Lately

I hope everyone had an a m a z i n g Labor Day weekend. I know I sure did but it flew by. Seriously, it didn’t even feel like a long weekend. I’m not complaining because the quicker this week goes, the quicker I’ll be in New York. (Just typing that gives me butterflies!!!) Make sure you’re following along on Twitter (@ChacosandChanel), Instagram (@ChacosandChanelBlog), & Snapchat (RileyBrahm) to see everything before the blog!

I wore this dress to a wedding over the long weekend. It’s not technically supposed to be tied up but I love it when I tried it. (Remember when I said getting dressed should be fun?! Don’t be afraid to try things & take risks, you’ll never know how it will turn out!) I found an almost identical dress here but it’s a little on the pricy side. If you’re interested in similar options check here and here.

I kept my jewelry simple with a vintage snake cuff, similar here

Lazy Sundays are what I live for. I am usually feeling pretty lazy at this point in the weekend and reach for the cutest + coziest outfit for brunch and picking up some produce at the farmers market. I snagged this top at Anthropologie last week and I’ve already worn it three times. It’s still warm here so I’m pairing it with denim shorts, but I’ve also worn it around the house with leggings. The back of the top is SO CUTE. I think I’m going to grab it in another color before my trip.

I wore this look out for date night a couple of weekends ago. In case you haven’t noticed, I love my flares. I have a full round up on flare jeans here or you can shop these exact jeans here. I love these jeans for many reasons: They’re soft, like super super soft. They are under $60. They dress up or down. I got so many compliments on how flattering they are (& I’m Five foot three!). And they come long, like so long I couldn’t even find heels tall enough for them (if you’re tall just don’t put them in the dryer and they will stay long), if you’re short like me (heeeey) just dry them, they shrink in length not size!

I’m a leopard lover. No way around it. I have a small section of my closet full of leopard and I must admit some of the leopard items are for special trips (think Vegas, Miami) but leopard accessories are the most amazing neutral. They go so well with florals and stripes. I was a little afraid of these shoes at first, they are tall. I bought them for my trip to NYC but wanted to test the waters first. I wore them to the wedding Sunday and OH MY GOODNESS they are so easy to walk in. My feet didn’t even hurt all night. I am in love.

Cheetah Platforms |

This dress was a summer staple, it is so easy to throw on and so comfy. Pairing it with my favorite green army jacket was an instant hit. It’s perfect if you live in the south like me because once the cool morning turns into a warm afternoon you can tie the jacket around your waist!

White Dress | Army Green Jacket |

One of my favorite parts of fall are the shoes (these are a classic for fall/winter), a second runner up is the candles. Fall candles smell AHHHmazing. I picked up this candle at the farmer’s market. It’s Southern Pecan Pie and I literally wish I could just carry it around with me all the time. I found an almost identical candle here, I also love the oatmeal cookie scent and cinnamon vanilla

| Bean Boots (size down) | Pumpkin Souffle Candle |

This is a #LaterGram from last Fall. This fringe jacket was such a hit, it sold out pretty quickly. I have found an (almost) identical twin and it’s half the price of the original + comes in two colors. Hurry and grab yours while you can! If you’re interest in seeing/shopping this full look head to the original post here

Life Lately

Sometimes I do not feel like a real human on Mondays, especially a Monday following this past weekend. It was a blast. We went nonstop and had about six friends in town. I always wake up on Monday mornings with anxiety, so much to do and not sure what to do first. I’ve been a little MIA recently, I’ve been finishing up house redecorations Can I get a hallelujah!! with the help of thrift stores and multiple cans of spray paint. I cannot wait to share it all with you but until then I wanted to catch you up on life lately. (via Instagram! If you don’t follow me check it out here!)

If you need me in the meantime I’ll be hibernating with a face mask & deep conditioning treatment, [at one point this weekend I had queso in my hair. Queso in my belly = great, Queso in my hair = no thank you!]

|| White Overalls *40% off with code ’40DAYS’ Record Player Comes in so many cute colors! ||

I’ve been searching E V E R Y W H E R E for white overalls with no luck (unless I wanted to pay $80 for these, no thank you). Finally I found these super soft, super light white overalls & they’re on sale. I was sold and so happy I purchased them, I’ve already received so many compliments.

I am a huge believer in accessorizing. I think it adds a personal touch to any outfit, plus is a great way to maximize any piece of clothing’s wear without getting bored. These are a few of my favorite jewels and sunnies right now. Some are splurges that I wear season after season (think Michael Kors, Yurman) and others are fun trend pieces that can be layered, mixed, and matched.

|| Grey Backless Tee | Free People Black Bra | Ruffle Floral Shorts ||

I love this outfit for so many reasons. First, it’s cheap these shorts are under $11 and the top is under $20! Second, it’s so cozy. I love throwing it on with this free people bra for a casual look or pairing the top with sticky boobs, statement earrings and a fun skirt for a dressier look.

This (Fried Green Tomato) burger selfie is care of National Burger Day and Urban Stack. If you are ever in Chattanooga, TN you have to check out Urban Stack Restaurant. They are the absolute best, and nothing goes better with their burger than a glass of High Tea!

|| Camouflage Pants (Old) Similar Here | Chain Link Ring | Kendra Scott Cuff Bracelet c/o Rocksbox ||

A lot of people do not realize it but camouflage is actually a neutral! How fun right? It goes so well with bright colors and a way to switch up your wardrobe! Leopard is a fun neutral as well.

|| Watermelon Pool Float | Sunnies ||

True life, I have a new obsession with pool floats. If you follow me on Snapchat you know I recently purchased this one as well. They are so fun. Plus there is nothing in the world more relaxing than floating in the pool with your favorite sunnies on a hot day.
