One of my favorite trends right now is the Varsity Letter patch products. Stoney Clover Lane products are my obsession, but I can’t bring myself to spend so much on products that I know will get a lot of wear. I’m sure you can agree $70+ for a tiny pouch is a little crazy! So, I figured out how to make my own. They may be a little less cute in terms of patterns and fewer options BUT when you can make a whole tote for around $40, SOLD. Plus, it’s so easy that you’ll be hooked to these DIY Stoney Clover Lane Dupes. Here’s how.

I’m sharing an easy tutorial for this denim tote I made, but the possibilities are endless! Before Foster was born, I used this same Stoney Clover Lane Dupe technique to make his DIY Diaper Bag Backpack and this DIY Pouch I use for traveling and when we went to the hospital.
I’ve tried three different style letters- iron on, sew on, adhesive tape. The iron on are my personal favorite (linked in this post), followed by adhesive. I don’t trust my sewing skills enough for the sew on ones.
DIY Stoney Clover Lane Dupe
what you need:
+ bag, pouch or tote of choice
+ letters/patches of choice
+ iron or flat iron.
directions:
- Start with a clean surface, test your letters to ensure you like the placement and spacing.
- One by one, apply heat with either your iron or flatiron. I did a few moments of holding it in place, followed by a few moments of running it back and forth over the patches.
- Let cool and enjoy!

What will you make!? I must warn you it’s addicting. I want to add patches anywhere and everywhere. If you try this, be sure to tag me in your DIY Stoney Clover Dupes so I can share on my Instagram.

Where did you get your patches? Can you provide links please?
