Date Night Jewel

October 30, 2015

/ styleuncategorized

Happy Halloweve! Today I’m sharing a cozy yet elegant look. The jewel tones are perfect for upcoming holidays and a small touch of fur adds that little something extra.

I pulled together this cozy and easy outfit for our date night earlier this week. Someone the other day told me date nights are boring in the Fall and I completely disagree! Even though it’s starting to cool down, you can still bundle up outside around a fire. You can go see a movie, head to a pumpkin patch or check out your local farmer’s market. Another date night that babe & I love is making pizzas at our house! We take the easy route and buy all the ingredients pre made and just throw them in the oven! Rent a movie and grab a bottle of wine, it’s the perfect night.

This tunic came home with me because it’s 50% off and who can resist a sale right?! I kept seeing it hanging in my closet and for some reason I wanted to return it.. I don’t know why. All my friends kept oohhig & ahhing over it and it’s SO soft, but something in me kept saying I didn’t need it. Well I was wrong. I decided to dress it up a few different ways and OMG I’m in love. I didn’t want to take it off. I honestly might have to order one of the other two colors, I’m that obsessed. I’m going to be styling it again very soon to show you more ways to wear it, it looks so cute alone with OTK boots, under an oversized sweater with leggings or tucked into a skater skirt. I loved how cozy and warm I was when I wore this to the movies because I always get so cold.

I have been looking for a bucket bag for at least a year now. I don’t know why I was so picky about it, it’s just a bag. I saw many that I loved but couldn’t bring myself to buy one. I’m so happy I didn’t skip over this bag like the others, it’s p e r f e c t! First, it’s under $70. The vegan leather feels like butter and it comes in 6 gorgeous colors. Honestly I didn’t think it could get better but then I realized it came with this adorable matching pouch! It holds everything in your bag for easy access or doubles as a fun clutch. What more could you ask for?!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday & Halloween weekend!

Xo,

As y’all know I’m a ‘fresh start in the new As y’all know I’m a ‘fresh start in the new year’ kinda gal. One thing I like to do is look at my finances 🥴 - reassess my spending, create new budgets, set new goals. ⁣
⁣
Like most things I share on here, I’m NO expert. Just sharing a few simple tricks that work for me. ⁣
⁣
+ ASSESS. 🕵🏻 Go through your accounts and categorize every thing you’ve purchased the past month, months, year- however broad you want to look into an excel sheet. This will help you see where your money is going. This part is always SO scary for me. It’s mind blowing to see how those small purchases add up. ⁣
⁣
+ MAKE A PLAN. ✍🏼 After I had my wake up call, I knew it was time for a plan. I looked at all the money I was spending and decided what could be cut back. I use the Mint App on my phone and can set a budget for every single category of my spending. This helps me see what money I should spend each month and what money I can put into savings. It connects to your bank accounts and each evening I go through and make sure all my purchases are going into the correct category. You can connect your bills to this account and see when they’re due. It also gives you push notifications for when you’re close to exceeding a budget or if you have gone over. I cannot say enough about this app, I love it! Download it and play around, it’s easy to get the hang of.⁣
⁣
+ CUT THE TEMPTATION. ✂️ For me it’s Target and Amazon. In the past I deleted the Amazon app but i really do order a ton of necessities from it. Now instead of purchasing something immediately, I add to cart and then look at my cart at the end of the day. This helps with impulse purchases. Same with Target. I need some items from there but try to do pick up orders so I’m not tempted by unnecessary things! ⁣
⁣
I hope this helps! I did these tricks for a few months a couple years ago and saved enough to by our boat 😂. Any new budget tips I should try this year? ⁣
