I’m a simple makeup kinda gal. My mom has hardly ever worn any, so I grew up really not thinking much about it. Not much has changed. Yes, I like to get fancy every once in a while, but for the most part my daily makeup routine is easy, quick and cheap. I haven’t shared an updated daily makeup routine in a while so I wanted to spill the beans on my current faves!

Before we dive in, I think prepping the skin is huge. I SWEAR by this $1 eye cream. I also use this Tinted Moisturizer as the PERFECT base. Now that you’re prepped, let’s go! disclaimer- I am NO makeup expert but this is what I do. It’s a quick and easy daily routine that I can do in under 10 minutes, 5 minutes most days. It gets the job done!
step one: I start with my undereyes. I swear by this Mabelline Undereye Concealer. I make sure my undereye is primed with this eye cream. After it’s hydrated from the cream, I draw a triangle under each eye with the stick. Then I dot to cover up in pimples or dark spots. I let it sit for a couple of minutes and then dab with a damp beauty blender.
step two: I noticed I was having a lot of mascara smear and I solved this two ways – the first? Setting with a setting powder! I love this one from It Cosmetics. It’s not drugstore but I do think it’s worth the money. It works very well, doesn’t cause flashback in photos and has lasted a while. Like over a year. I apply it with a small blush brush.
step three: Time to bronze, aka no longer look like a zombie. I swear by this Marc Jacobs Bronzer in shade ‘Tantric’. Yes, it’s one of the more expensive items in my makeup bag but it’s last TWO YEARS. I love that it’s matte- no shimmer, glitter explosion here. It goes on well and the color works year round. I use a bronzer brush to lightly dust my whole face and neck. I then get the edge of the brush and go a little harder on the palette. I then trace an ‘E’ on my face for a very sad excuse for contouring (it works though!). This adds some dimension to your face. note: I’ll have this saved to my ‘Makeup’ highlight tab on my Instagram for a visual tutorial.
step four: I’ve always been a huge fan of blush, I love the subtle glow it gives. I think it just makes you look more alive. I place two fingers on either side of my nose and then brush my cheeks up and out. I’ve been a religious fan of Nars Blush in Shade ‘Orgasm’ for as long as I can remember.
step five: I like a little highlight without looking like a disco ball. Definitely acheivable with this Becca Pressed Highlighter in Shade ‘Champagne Pop’. It’s a light shine and sparkle that doesn’t look cheap. I use a large highlighter brush to lightly sweep the top of my cheekbones.
step six: Eyelashes are my desert island choice – like if I could only use one product for the rest of forever what would you choose? Mine would 100% be mascara. So needless to say, I’m picky! 9 times out of 10 I prime my lashes with this L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Primer. It makes your lashes so much longer and thicker than just plain mascara. I apply a few coats, let it sit for about a minute and then top with my favorite mascara, which has been L’Oreal Lash Paradise for at least two years now! After a few coats of Lash Paradise, before my lashes are dry, I do a swipe or two of this Telescopic Mascara. I think this helps lengthen them, while separating any clumps!
step seven: Brows! I usually get my brows tinted and waxed once a month, but my brow girl just moved away. I’m going to attempt to tint them myself but in the mean time I swear by these two easy products. First, I use this Benefit Cosmetics Brow Pencil. It’s easy to use and stays on well! I just do tiny little strokes that mimic my natural eyebrow hairs, filling in the few spots I need some help with. Then I use this Elf Clear Brow Gel to keep my actual eyebrow hairs in place. I just take the spool and brush up and out.
step eight: The finishing touch is my favorite drugstore lipstick! I can’t get enough of this L’Oreal Paris Rich Lipstick in Shade ‘Toasted Almond’. It’s like a nude, but darker so it almost appears as you’re not wearing lipstick. It’s like a subtle, perfect, everyday cherry on top!
Do you use any of these products? I’ve used all of them for a while and can’t say enough how much I love them! Be sure to check out my Instagram (@RileySitton), I’m sharing a video tutorial of my daily makeup routine on my stories and saved to my IG highlights. XO
