Casual Friday Stripes

Ahhh stripes we meet again. Don’t get me wrong I love stripes. I love stripes on the mannequin, I love stripes in the magazines, I love stripes on the hanger.. one place I don’t love stripes, on my body. Boy did Meritt Clothing prove me wrong. Not only did this dress quickly meet my three requirements to become a wardrobe favorite [1. Comfortable 2. Easy to dress up or down 3. In my budget] but it also has pockets. I am having a whole new love affair with stripes and I cannot wait to share it with you.

Ok, ok I’m giving stripes a hard time. They’re not that bad. I like stripes and I looove stripes when I’m looking to mix patterns.. Chilly night? Throw on a floral kimono. In the mood for something fun? Pair with polka dots. Looking to add a bit of edge to your look? Toss some leopard print into the mix. I especially love stripes on a dress like this because the cut is so flattering you can do no wrong. It’s loose so you can wear it to Taco Tuesday and not worry when you get the queso, the tacos, a margarita and decide it’s completely necessary to head for fro-yo after dinner (Don’t worry it totally is necessary. Fro-yo is always necessary) but it’s not too loose where you look like you’re wearing a pillow case.

I know what you’re thinking, “We get it stripes are a great neutral, this dress is a summer staple but when are you going to talk about that adorable arm candy on your wrist?!” When I saw these bracelets I instantly fell in love. I knew I could quickly throw one bracelet on walking out the door for a chic, instantly-put-together look or pile them all on for a trendy stack. The best part is you can head over to Instagram to enter to win your own bracelet from Ruby James by Lauren Wall!
