Last week I got a new hairstyle- Natural Beaded Row Extensions! I’ve had them before and I’m obsessed. They add length and volume. One of the main reason I wanted longer hair was to do more hairstyles, like this Easy Braid. It was so easy I had to share (the highly requested) braid hair tutorial!
So here’s the trick- this isn’t actually a braid at all! It’s more like a series of small ponytails that appear like an oversized fishtail braid. It takes less than five minutes, is super easy and you will get so many compliments!
I recorded a video braid hair tutorial that you can watch here but wanted to include a few steps and tips here in case you ever needed to refer back to them.
- Start with a low side ponytail. I use these elastic bands. They hold up really well, better than any other ones I’ve tried. I like to break the top elastic when I’ve finished the braid but the is optional! If you do break it, you may need to add a few bobby pins, once again your preference.
- Next, about an inch from the top elastic, gather a small piece of hair from each side of your ponytail. Meet in the middle and secure with an elastic. Tighten your mini ponytail by pulling both sides at the bottom, then go above the elastic on your mini ponytail and pull both sides, do this back and forth until its a little big and poofy.
- Repeat all the way down your hair.
- Spray with hairspray, loosen both sides with your fingers and adjust any pieces needed!
