Dr Pepper Snapple Group® sponsored this post. All opinions are mine and mine alone.

I am SO excited to share our first glimpse Christmas decor with you guys and what is more fun than a lil' holiday party (aka the PERFECT Christmas cocktail) to go along with it!? There's so many things I love about this year, but one of my most favorite things is having friends and family over for good food, good drinks and a great time.

Now that we're officially in the holiday season, I'm always thinking about a few things: convenience, budget, time. Sure, these things aren't fun but they are key to surviving the holiday season. If I'm having a party, I want to make sure I'm not slaving away in the kitchen all night or spending a fortune!

Paris. The little word that makes my heart skip a beat.

While I'm still recuperating (hello 50lbs of laundry still in my car), I had to spill some of our trip with you guys! If you don't follow along on Instagram, you maybe missed that RJ and I travelled to Paris last week for our first wedding anniversary.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving Babes!! Each year I feel like my heart couldn't be more full, yet it grows each year! I have so much to be thankful for and one of those huge pieces is YOU GUYS.

Tips for Hosting + Our Favorite Turkey Day Recipes

Monday, November 13, 2017

Growing up Thanksgiving was always one of my favorite holidays. I love the food, I love family coming together and I love that it kicks off the official Christmas season. As I've gotten older, I'm excited to start new traditions, new Thanksgiving memories -- most of which involve hosting for my family and friends!

We hosted in our old home the year before we got married. It was an absolute disaster, but still some great memories were born. Last year, we were in Italy for Thanksgiving and while it was incredible, part of me did miss our annual tradition. This year we made sure to schedule our anniversary trip just in time to be home for the holidays!

We also hosted Friendsgiving this past weekend! I feel like I'm slowly but surely fine-tuning my #HolidayHostessWithTheMostest skills and I wanted to share them with you today! Additionally, I'll be sharing our family favorite recipes (including the best + easiest pumpkin cheesecake recipe).

Thanksgiving Decor + Caramel Apple Mimosas

Thursday, November 9, 2017

When we first started looking at houses, dining rooms were not high on my list. In fact, they weren't on my list at all. Open floor plan, yes. Bathtub and large closet, absolutely. Dining rooms? Who needs them.

As long as we had an eat in kitchen, I was pretty content on no dining room. Boy, was I wrong! This room has quickly become one of the most exciting rooms in our home.

I loved decorating it and I am even more excited for all the memories that will be made in here soon. I'm not 100% done in here, I need some art work behind the table and I have my eye on a new fixture but we're so close and just in time for the holidays!

To break this baby in, we celebrated with Caramel Apple Mimosas, one of my favorite cocktails (that also have a fun story behind them!). Come on in and grab one for yourself...

Upgrading a Traditional Tree: Flocking & More for $5!

Wednesday, November 8, 2017

Hello my lil' holiday elves! Can you believe it's actually time for holiday content again?! I know it seems a little early, but so many of you guys are starting to buy trees, or at least decide which tree to buy and I wanted to get this post up as soon as possible because it could save you a ton.

Last year, I dreamt of having a flocked, snowy Christmas tree but when I set out to buy one I found they ran double, if not triple of what a traditional tree costs (which by the way, why are Christmas trees so expensive?!). I could not bring myself to spend over $500 on a fake tree that would grace our living room for all of a month.

I set out to find a way to flock my own tree and was very surprised with what I found! Little to no tutorials on Pinterest, Google, etc. I did happen to stumble up one forum about faking snow with laundry detergent and decided it was time to experiment.

$5 dollars, one trip to the Dollar Store and about an hour later-- I had a winter wonderland! I have never been so happy with a project before. I was able to get my flocked tree for HALF the price. I shared a little of this tutorial last year, but I really wanted to break things down for you today!

As you can see, it's really easy. Basically just mixing and placing on the branches! If anything it's just a tad tedious, but throw on a Christmas movie and enjoy the season!

I may end up adding some more flock to our tree, we ordered a new tree this year and I largely underestimated how big it was actually going to be. I did however add some 'snow' (torn pieces of cotton) that help add a snowy, white vibe to our tree! I did this last year too, its a great and cheap filler that creates a gorgeous look. My 'snow' is actually from when I made out headboard a few years ago, but you can grab it at Hobby Lobby. It's the white padding that you find in the fabric section!

1 Bucket
1 Plastic Tablecloth
Powder Laundry Detergent (I used 3 boxes for a 6ft Tree
**You can get everything at the Dollar Tree

1. In a bucket, mix one cup of water with detergent. Continue to add 1/4 cup of water until you have a paste like mixture.
2. Place your tree on top of your table cloth.
3. Starting from the top, use a spoon and your hands to place mixture on branches.
4. Let dry before decorating

*I flocked our tree inside this year, last year I felt it made a bigger mess doing it outside and carrying it inside. Plus, our tree was too big to move this year. I did get a few drops of flock on the floor but they wiped right up, no damage.

Here's our final tree! There's still some things I want to add, but it's basically finished. Next week I will be sharing exactly how I decorate the tree, where most of our ornaments are from, etc. I have so many fun holiday things coming your way I hope you're as excited as I am. XO

S K I N  C A R E
I have struggled with skin issues for a few years now #Ugh. I have very sensitive, acne prone skin. I have finally found a skin care system that works for me, unfortunately it's not carried at Sephora but a few of their products do come into play in my routine. Since I've had such a struggle recently, I really have started to pay attention to my skin care routine and what make up I'm putting on my face.

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches: I have horrible dark circles everyday. No matter how much sleep I get, water I drink, they never go away. It's genetic and tragic. In addition to dark circles, I quite often get puffy eyes, bags and swelling. I've used these once and immediately noticed a difference in all my problems, including the dark circles! I'm obsessed. I know they are a little pricier, so I plan to only use them every other day or every few days.

Murad InstaMatte Oil-Control Mask: Like I mentioned above, I have acne prone skin. There are very, very few brands I can use that don't irritate my skin. Murad is one of the ones I can use! I love this acne mask so much. It helps with stubborn underground pimples as well as clearing black heads. I usually do my PMD (more below) once a week and follow up with this mask.

Head to Toe! Sephora Mask Set: This set is such a steal at $20! You get 5 different masks, but my two favorites are the hair mask and foot mask. I use both weekly.

Below are my all time, holy grail make up products. I keep all of these in a cosmetic bag, separate from all my make up. I don't wear make up every single day, but if I do need make up I always, always use these below. (Depending on what I'm doing I'll wear some products or all products.)

Ps. How CUTE is my new makeup bag! It has two huge compartments + a spot for brushes and a spot for jewelry.

IT Cosmetics 'Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF': If I had to choose one make up to wear the rest of my life, it would either be this or mascara. I love this stuff so, so, SO much. I can't say enough about it. It's light, yet provides amazing coverage. I also love that it gives you a dewy finish and contains vitamins + SPF. I apply with a beauty blender. If you've never tried this I highly suggest trying it while you can grab it on sale!

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20: I use the CC Cream every time I wear makeup, but if I'm going for a fuller look I will add this on top of it. I feel it adds additional coverage, closer to wearing a foundation but still not as heavy.

Sephora 'Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer': I used to use Nars concealer for under eye concealing and blemishes but I decided to try the Sephora brand. I love it just as much, maybe even more + it's bigger & cheaper. #OhYesPlz

Nars 'Blush': This is the all time best blush. I use it on my friends too and they love it! Color: 'Orgasm'.

Nars 'Velvet Matte Lip Pencil': I'm not a huge lipstick person, I tend to wear nothing or a tinted gloss. I don't know why, but lipstick is always so messy on me, I forget to reapply and end up looking crazy. This lip pencil is so easy to apply, stays put and I love the velvet matte. It's basically the only lip I wear now (& no lip liner needed!). Color: Walkyrie

Too Faced 'Peach Eyeshadow Palette': This palette is so cute. I love the rich colors and it has a lot of 'sparkle' options perfect for the holidays. Bonus: It SMELLS LIKE PEACHES!!

Marc Jacobs 'Highlighter Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner': I don't wear eyeliner that often, but if I do I love this one. It's very creamy and glides on, but also stays in place so well. I have also started wearing a brown shade, I find it adds definition without being overly harsh like black can be.

This is also the perfect time to stock up on some bigger purchases! These are my three favorites, but if I had to choose one from the list I would pick the PMD.

PMD (Personal Microderm): I use this once a week and have 100% noticed a change in my skin. It's a small, vacuum like handheld product that gently sucks away dead skin, clogged pores, etc. Not only do I think it helps prevent break outs, but I have also noticed brighter, more even, plumper skin.

Dyson Blow Dryer Set: I do not own the Dyson, but my Melmom and best friend do. I love, love using it. I think a nice blow dryer is so important to your hair quality and sanity. It helps dry your hair quicker and leaves healthier hair. This is the perfect time to splurge on one, while saving a large amount of money.

T3 Curling Iron Trio: My T3 Curling iron is my favorite of all my curling irons! It works so well. It heats up fast, creates a gorgeous curl and my curls hold for days. Literally everything you could ask for in a curler. This trio is such a good price. You receive three curlers for just a little over the price of one.

What are you adding to your cart this year?! I'm always down to try new beauty/makeup products. Is there anything more relaxing than a face mask and bubble bath after a long day?! XO
