60 Calorie, 3 Ingredients Brownie Bites

Wednesday, August 31, 2016

Apparently there's this old superstition that you can't open your wedding presents until after the wedding or it's bad luck. Really I think it's just so you don't put all your new kitchen gadgets to work and get fat before the wedding. :)
As soon as I came home from my first shower in Memphis, I couldn't wait to open my kitchen aid mixer and start using it. I've wanted one for so long, longer than I've wanted almost anything. But I felt like I shouldn't buy it myself because it would be a special gift for our wedding. (Maybe this is crazy, but this is how I've always felt & it was definitely worth the wait.)

I'm honestly not sure how I lived without it.

I had the urge to bake everything I've ever pinned and if I didn't have a wedding dress to fit into in a few short months, I probably would have baked Babe and I into a sugar coma for the next 10 years. To have the best of both worlds I decided to dig up some healthy-ish dessert and bring back one of my all time favorites..

Brownie Muffins.

60 calories each, 3 ingredients. These are irresistible. You would never, never, never know these are "diet".  They are so moist, crumbs are stuck to your fingers after eating them. If you've ever had an Otis Spunkmeyer Double Chocolate Chip muffin, these are their identical twin.

I have the biggest sweet tooth in the world. I could eat chocolate all day long, have one taco at dinner and then head straight for dessert. It's my weakness. It's not one of those sweet tooths that can be cured with fruit either, I need chocolatey heaven not watermelon.
These brownie bites keep me satisfied without the guilt! The full size muffins are amazing, but I love the ability to grab a mini one and pop it in my mouth to cure my cravings.

Nutritional Estimates Per Serving Muffins: (1 muffin or 3 mini muffins or 3 cookies): 181 calories, 3.5g fat, 37g carbs, 2g fiber, 2g protein and 5 Weight Watchers PointsPlus;

They key to the super moist-ness is cooking it the perfect amount of time in the oven and then allowing them to finish in the pan. If you're making normal muffins, you will cook them around 10 minutes and check on them. If they still feel 'liquid-y' they are not ready. I usually give them two more minutes and check again, hopefully this time they are feeling super soft but solid. If you're unsure, pinch a tiny piece off the top of one and see if it is a cake consistency or more of batter. (You want a cake like consistency, not batter)
Also, the batter itself is thick. You can spoon it straight into the cups, but I've found it's easiest to place it in a piping bag or ziploc baggy (with the corner cut off) and swirled into the mold like you are icing a cupcake.

Go Go Girl's Guide: The Twinkle. Quick, Easy & Fabulous Hair Removal

Monday, August 29, 2016

I'm so excited to start a new series with you today! One thing I feel like I've mastered is being a 'Go Go Girl', especially this year. Between working, running the blog, planning a wedding, and having a real life (I'm a social butterfly, y'all!) I definitely am a Go Go Girl.

I decided to share all my busy girl wisdom with y'all and the Go Go Girl Guide series was born! From quick recipes to running a household to dressing the part, I plan to cover it all. Today I'm starting with the dirty secrets, hair removal.

I know, I know it's a taboo topic, but I like to be transparent with y'all. When I learned about the Twinkle it was life changing and I had to share it!

^^In Microderm heaven! Not only does it get hair, but it also gets off the dead skin.
First, meet the Twinkle. This little fellow has become my BFF. Introduced to me by my MelMom, it removes any hair, any where. Disguised as an eyebrow razor, these suckers come in a pack of 36 razors for $12. I was a little hesitant at first, I thought for sure the hair would just come back heavier, darker and more often. Wrong!

Not only does it get rid of all the hair, face, under arms, legs (those pesky ankle spots you always miss in the shower!) but it also removes dead skin and peach fuzz from your face making your makeup look smoother! Professional make up artist use these on their clients before big events for that airbrushed look. Your face will always feel like a baby's bottom. I hit trouble spots as needed and do my entire face once a week.

I swear, this tiny little razor will change your life. I used to always be so self conscious about hair and now I never have to worry. It's small and cheap, so you can easily stash one in your purse, car, everywhere!

A few tips for using the razors: Make sure you pull your skin tight in the area you are shaving. Hold it with one hand and lightly press the razor in and down. Your face doesn't need to be wet but if you use any kind of facial oil, it does help remove the hair and leaves your skin so soft (but it's fine without it too! I don't use any oil).  I use one razor for 2-3 weeks and then toss it. The whole box lasts me around 6 months.

I hope you're excited for this series as I am! It's something that's been brewing in my mind since April, but I've been too busy to carry out (how ironic is that? Ha!). What is your busy girl beauty secret?! I would love to add it to my routine.

Date Night a la Naan Pizza

Sunday, August 28, 2016

Ahh, food. It's such a discussion at our house. Every. Single. Meal. We can never decide.. is this marriage? Will we ever be on the same page with meals? I literally never know what I want to eat but I always know what I don't want. Babe can name five hundred restaurants and suddenly I hate them all. Please, tell me I'm not alone in this ladies?!
Do you know what is even harder than deciding where to eat? Finding an easy, healthy-ish meal to throw together at home that Babe will eat and I don't regret an hour later. I could devour plates full of veggies but Babe 'hates' anything green (I say hates because he won't actually try it), he loves meat and I love fish. We may be #SoulMates but our taste buds are absolutely opposite.

So you would think I would be beyond thrilled to find an easy, cheap, delicious and fun date night dinner that we both love and can customize! The problem is that it's so good, so easy that we want to make it every night now.

Do you want in on the secret? Perfect for kids, picky eaters of all ages, an easy go-to dinner or a quick snack.. It's Naan bread pizzas! They are a m a z i n g.

I can't say enough about these pizzas. First, you can literally make your own pizza with whatever you want on it! No more fighting over what toppings to order, you get the whole thing!
Plus, they're cheap.
And they take about 15 minutes total.
And they're delicious
Like so delicious, you will want them all the time.
Why is pizza so good?
They're so easy, I almost felt silly typing up the recipe card

Costco is the cheapest place to buy Naan. You can get 10 pieces for $4, I keep it in the fridge so it stays fresh longer, I've also seen them for sale in the bread section at Publix and Target! For my pizza in the pictures above, I did pesto sauce with cherry tomatoes, feta cheese and parmesan cheese. So, so good y'all. There are so many possibilities, I'm already thinking of new pizzas to cook up.

Having Babe on the blog is fun. He's so confused by it all honestly. He came home a couple weeks ago and I buttered him up.. "We're having naan pizzas tonight! You can have two and I'm not even making any vegetables to go with it!". His eyes lit up, then I broke the bad news. "Oh yea, I'm going to be photographing us making the pizzas for a blog post!". He actually was a pretty good sport and we managed to get a few good pictures out of the 250 we took..

I've been using a tripod to take some of my photos lately and it's super fun! I love a good challenge and I'm trying to work on my photography skills. If you have blog questions or any questions, submit them here (anonymously!) for this Friday's first Dear Riley: Q & A! If you need me until then, I'll be living in this cozy top (^^the one in the pictures above). It's so soft, perfect for Fall transitioning and has the cutest back ever.

Hope you're Monday is quick & your coffee strong! XO

Fall Transitioning with the Best of Booties

Thursday, August 25, 2016

A couple of days ago I went on a huge Pinterest binge, the victim was "Fall Recipes". I really love Fall, I really love a change in any season to be fair. Once the end of one season arrives, I'm itching for something new and exciting. Fall may have a little bit of an edge on the other seasons though, it's my birthday, football season, and now our wedding! Fall recipes are great too, it's still warm enough in the south to enjoy dinner on the back porch but not too warm that we can use the oven or crock pot without having a heat stroke.
When a new season arrives, you know that means shopping! One of my favorite, favorite, favorite things to invest in is shoes. Not just any shoes, but booties to be exact.

Booties are like the Holy Grail of shoes. They can be worn in any season. They can take your basic tee and denim shorts combo to a Fall favorite outfit. They're the perfect shoe. If you invest in a pair (I'm talking between $50-$150) they will last for years to come. Last year I invested in these over the knee boots, which I love, but I really think booties is the way to go. You will get so much more wear and there are so many cute pairs out right now!

I'll never say no to an adorable shoe that's comfortable + goes with almost any outfit! What is your favorite Fall transition piece? I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful weekend! XO
