Changes for Chacos & Chanel + More Engagement Photos

Wednesday, June 8, 2016

I'm so excited to share another look from our engagement pictures with you guys today! I hadn't really had a chance to look at the pictures since the week we shot them and I forgot how in love I am with how they turned out.

I originally planned to share a 'how to' on picking engagement shoot outfits but instead I'm here to say good bye to Chacos and Chanel..

Monday Must Have: Laced Up

Monday, June 6, 2016

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. It was one of my best friend's birthday and the perfect excuse to stay out a little later than normal. I brought the Polaroid out on Saturday night and it was so fun being able to take pictures and have a copy right away. If you're searching for the perfect bday gift or maybe a unique gift for a newly engaged friend, a Polaroid camera would be at the top of my list! Ps. this is the cheapest place to buy film!

Summertime and the livin' is easy. If you've been reading along for a while, you know I like something comfy just as much as it is cute. The lace up trend is one I'm fully behind. It adds a little spunk and sass to the everyday tee, dress or coverup. It makes a statement with minimal effort. Laced up can be edgy, girly, romantic or refined.

Wear a lace up tunic in the office with a some slacks, pair a lace up crop top with a flirty, floral skirt or add a little edge with cut offs and marble sunnies like I did. It's fun to play with trends and see all the different ways to rock them.

If you're worried about the 'low cut' neckline on some lace up tops, I love to pair this bra underneath for added coverage. If you're in a very modest setting, you could wear a light camisole underneath.

I've rounded up all my favorite laced up pieces below --dresses, tops, swimwear and more!

What's your favorite trend right now?! I'll be sitting by the door all day, my sister's maid of honor dress is coming in the mail & I. CANNOT. WAIT. I changed my mind so many times on bridesmaid dresses and I'm so happy with what we decided on. My bridesmaids may hate me though #IndecisivePartyOf1
PS. I have been living in this two piece pom pom set. I love that you can get a bottom + a matching top for under $40. Talk about mix n match heaven! It will be on the blog soon but I had to share now before it sells out, it's such a steal! XO

6.3.16 The Friday Fill In

Friday, June 3, 2016

TGIF! Someone earlier this week said short weeks somehow feel longer than regular weeks & I think I know why… It's because you spend so much time catching up from that missing day, when you just wish you were back wherever you were or doing whatever you were doing with that extra Monday. I think we are all doing that little Hello Weekend happy dance.

With the wedding coming up and my life changing so much, I often wonder if blogging is the right path. Sure, I love blogging more than anything but it's a scary path. You work virtually for yourself, run your entire company and have no one to tell you when you're doing something right or wrong.
But each time I start to question myself, God sends a little sign not to doubt this path. Yesterday, Cosmopolitan reposted one of my photos (may not be a big deal to some) but I saw it as a little nudge from Him saying keep going, keep working, don't give up. Each time I doubt myself, I get one of these little nudges.

For all bloggers or just people in the world, I wanted to use this Friday as a reminder to keep going. You're doing great at whatever you're doing! Work your hardest because it will pay off. These are my four P's of life: Prayer, Persistence, Patience, Positivity.

Sunglasses. I don't know what it is but I'm such a sucker for a great pair of sunnies. I'm weird about them, some I can only wear if I'm dressed up, some can go with anything. Some are boho and some are classic. Either way, I have to have them allll.

If you’re following me on Snapchat, you can now find out what I’m wearing in my snaps! When you see an Emoticode (A ghost emoji followed by a rocket emoji + a few random letters) in any of my snaps, take a screenshot and use the ShopStyle app to see what I’m linking to! Just tap More in the ShopStyle app to upload my snap. It’s super easy.
Try it for yourself

1. Download + Open your ShopStyle app (note that this is the ShopStyle app, not the Collective app).
2. Take a screenshot of a Snapchat that contains an Emoticode.
3. In the ShopStyle app, click the More tab at the bottom of the screen, then click Emoticode. Click Import Photo with an Emoticode, and upload the screenshot you just took.
4. The ShopStyle app scans the Emoticode in the photo. Click through to see the product linked to the Emoticode!

I'm so excited about this feature because I so often receive stuff in the mail and before I can get it posted on IG or my blog, it sells out! Make sure to add me on Snapchat (RileyBrahm) & I'll be showing how it works later today!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Thanks so much for spending a little bit of your Friday with me.

Summer Swimwear

Thursday, June 2, 2016

In my mind, there is absolutely nothing better than a weekend by the water. The beach, the lake, the pool… even a cocktail. Give me some liquid and I'm a happy, happy girl.

This past Memorial Day, we were so lucky to head to Florida for a little R & R. I was able to se good friends, eat great food and lay on a giant donut beach towel. Life doesn't get much better than that.
I also realized, I've been seriously neglecting the swimwear section of my closet. I was able to snag a few new pieces before the trip but now that I'm home I've been rounding up all my favorites. ASOS is my all time fave for swimwear. The prices are great, they have so many styles, plus they even carry pieces for petites, large busts, plus size or maternity.

If they aren't your fave, not to worry.. I've rounded up picks for all over the internet.

Some of my favorite trends for Summer are high neck tops & high waist bottoms, fun one pieces, wrap tops and crochet sets. Style is about having fun and swimwear is no exception! When you feel good, you look good. So grab a new bikini and be confident this Summer, you're all gorgeous babes!

*You can shop the swimwear in my photos at the bottom of the post.

If you're headed on a fun beach trip with your girlfriends, to a romantic getaway with your love or lounging at the nearest pool, I think I've got you covered. Here's my tips: If you love the high neck but worry about the tan lines --while your lounging around you can fold the top over. Buy a few pieces that can mix n match. I love a fruit print with stripes, complimenting colors or save money with a reversible top!

I hope you had a great MDW and an easy time adjusting to the work week! I'm excited my Mama is coming in town this weekend to hopefully help me knock out some wedding planning. XO
