Venice Beach & Gladiator Sandals

Thursday, March 31, 2016

While I was visiting California, I was also visiting one of my best friends who lives in Redondo Beach area just outside of LA. It was so nice to have my own little travel guide to show me both local gems and touristy destinations!

The morning we went to explore Venice Beach (which is insane btw!), we first stopped at 'Paradise Bowls' to grab breakfast. These Acai bowls were incredible and I'm excited to recreate them for Babe. It's like a delicious smoothie, in a bowl that you eat with a spoon! Mine had almond butter and cocoa nibs in it.. #drooling.

Venice Beach was crazy! It was so fun seeing all the skaters, Muscle Beach and the gorgeous houses on the Strand. Looking in the houses was my favorite part of the trip, they were all little slices of beach real estate heaven!

--Follow me on Pinterest here and we can whip up our own delicious Acai bowls! I've been pinning recipes to create this little pot of deliciousness.

I was excited to bring this little leopard piece with me on the trip. I am somewhat of an over packer but I knew this would save space in my bag because I could easily wear it day to night.

I dressed it down with a denim jacket, casual bag and a stack full of arm candy. Paired with my gladiators keeps it fun and casual.

I love, love, love gladiator sandals but just not my exact gladiators. I love how cute they look with every outfit from flirty dresses to denim short + tee combo but my pair slides around my leg. I bought them a couple of Summers ago before they were widely popular and my options were limited (these aren't even really my size #FashionProbz). I want to get a new pair this year but now all the pairs are so cute that I am having trouble deciding which pair to get!

I've rounded up my favorite options for you below (that won't fit crazy like mine do!). I love the knee high pairs but if you are more of a classic girl when it comes to style, the ankle pairs might be more your thing! Number 4 & 8 are a good middle height and I'm beyond obsessed with both pairs!! If I could ever just decide what color to get, I think I'm torn between snakeskin, olive and white! Ahh!

1. Atlas *2 Colors // 2. Werkit *5 Colors // 3. Wallet Friendly *2 Colors // 4. Lina *10 Colors // 5. Jasmyn *4 Colors // 6. Sun Seeker *4 Colors // 7. Joni // 8. Mesa Verde *3 Colors

*These are SO cute, I noticed them this morning and had to add them! I love all gladiators (obviously, ha!) but add in some tassels and pom poms.. I DIE.

Could you tell I was obsessed with this cactus we spotted in Venice?! I was dreaming of bringing it home but I had to settle with some potted succulents instead! Being in California gave me so many great ideas for our wedding, it was so great exploring!

Travel Style

Tuesday, March 29, 2016

I think traveling is so good for a person and seeing new places is one of my all time favorite things to do. Earlier this month I took a week long trip to California and I'm so excited to share it with you dolls!

When I book a trip, it's usually after saving money for months and I want to make the most of the time I'm traveling. I always try to book the earliest flight so I can spend the maximum time at our location. I want to look half way decent when I arrive so we can head straight out the door! This ain't no time for naps, y'all!

My solution to every problem in life has quickly become t shirt dresses.

Tee dresses are comfortable, layer-able and very cute. They're the type of outfit you see a cute, soccer mom running errands in and think 'I'm 23, no kids and that mom has her life together & better arms than I'll ever have!'. It's a one piece outfit that you can throw on, feel & look great!

You could easily dress this dress up with a pair of wrap wedges (How stinkin' cute are these, I may or may not have ordered them in taupe) and a fun necklace or keep it casual like I did!

When I'm traveling I always bring a sweater and scarf. This sweater is my go to and comes in 10 colors! This exact tee dress can be a little see through, so I linked my favorite slip below! It's a great piece to have on hand for any dress!

I hope you babe are having a happy Tuesday! What is your airport style?! I would love to add it to my travels.

Monday Must Have: Spring Denim Guide

Monday, March 28, 2016

Happy Monday! I hope you guys are recovering from a great Easter and major sugar coma.

Babe and I started Whole 30 this weekend. Easter weekend may not have been the easiest weekend to begin but I wanted to jump in and get a head start. My body was feeling a little beat up after having the flu last week and I figured there was no reason to keep putting it off. (Plus, we have to be finished by April 30th because it's my best friend's wedding! eek!

I have a major sweet tooth so the main thing I am missing is a little treat after my meals and I think RJ is mainly missing the bread. (Make sure you follow me on Instagram, @ChacosandChanelBlog, and Snapchat RileyBrahm, to keep up with our Whole30 journey!)

In the meantime, to fill my sugar cravings, I foresee a lot of Spring shopping on the horizon.

One of the most important things to have in your closet anytime of year is a nice pair of denim. Lemme rephrase that, nice pairs of denim. You need different styles for different occasions and then a few just for fun! For today's #MondayMustHaves I've pulled together a whole caboodle of great denim at every price point.

One. The Ultimate Basic // Pairs well with everything, easy to dress up or down. Wear with flats, heels, wedges and sandals. Works for every season!

Two. Dark and Distressed // The edgier version of the ultimate basic, perfect for jazzing up even the simplest white tee

Three. Light and Distressed // Perfect for spring and summer. Pops of distress are perfect for any outfit.

Four. Busted Knee *Under $100 // The funky and fun version of the ultimate basic. One of my favorite pairs in the guide!

Five. White Shorts // On my wish list! I have the blue jean version of these and wear them almost everyday. I'm stuck deciding if I want the white pair next or black pair

Six. Relaxed //  These are perfect for running errands or whenever you want to look cozy cute. Pairs well with a go to tee (half tucked of course) or dressed up with a flow-y boho top

Seven. My Favorite Shorts Ever, More Here // These get me in trouble because I love them so much, I wear them almost every day! I don't have super skinny legs and I hate, hate, hate when my shorts are tight around my thighs. If you are like me, size up and these will fit loose around your thigh for the perfect fit. If you have 'normal' legs, stay true to size and if you have skinny legs, size down and they will still be loose but not oversized. & Don't worry if you're unsure how to style these, they go with everything from casual to dressy and I will be styling these many, many times on here over the next few months!

Eight. Overalls // Overalls are a fun alternative to your usual denim. They're so easy to dress down or try something fun and unexpected by pairing them with some cute, girly heels

Nine. Denim Skirt // The button up style is a great twist on a 90's classic!

Ten. Classic Shorts // Classic, cutoff denim shorts. Need I say more?

Eleven. Mom Jean Shorts // If you're super creative, have hours to spend rummaging thrift stores and perfect measurements to cut your own you could possibly create these trendy shorts. If none of that sounds fun (I'm with ya, girl) snag this pair and save hours of work.

Flare Jeans are perfect for every occasion and the must have denim for Spring '16. They are super flattering and instantly make an outfit pop. One of my all time favorite outfits is my flare jeans, my favorite tee, wedges and layered necklaces.

Colored 'Skinny' Jeans, pairs with everything from fun flats to wedges and  virtually any top in your closet but with a twist on the usual blue jean.

White Jeans, a closet must have. Add a light touch to any outfit by pairing your favorite tops with white jeans or pull off one of my favorite looks with an all white ensemble!

A few more denim-ish pieces I couldn't live without: a great jean jacket and these $15 linen pants.

Once you have a few pairs of jeans in your closet that you really love, you can stock up on trendy tops, classic tees and tanks. You'll always have the base for a great outfit and feel like a million bucks.

Spring Refresh

Friday, March 11, 2016

Nothing makes you more ready for a new season than a new do and a new dress. Lucky for us, I've got the hook up for both & I'm willing to share.

Easter is coming early this year and it's apparent that Mother Nature took note. Hey, I'm not complaining, I love sunny and 75 but it's definitely time to catch up my hair. I know whenever I call Julie at STYLEbar I am certain of two things.

1. She will work me in whenever I need her to. No matter how busy she is, she always makes time for every client. She's an Angel.

2. I don't have to go in depth about what I'm wanting. While I could show her thousands of pictures, hair inspo and explain every little highlight I'm wanting (she definitely wouldn't mind chatting for however long!), she just gets it.

Life's easier when your hair is looking one hundred. Trust me ladies. Now it's just time for a little Spring sass.

Wether it's an Easter dress your on the hunt for or the perfect little number to wear dancing the night away at the Spring Wedding sneaking up on your social calendar.. Impressions Online Boutique is always my go to.

From casual yet stylish tees to cocktail attire, I'm constantly loading up my shopping cart. It's easy to restock your entire closet on a budget, every piece I've fallen in love with has been below $100 and the quality lasts wash after wash, event after event. It's my favorite.

A LWD, little white dress, is imperative for Spring. Brides already know how many white dresses they need, but they're also great for Easter, a blank canvas for any accessory (especially these shoes, I DIE) or just 'cuz! Shop more of my favorite LWDs here.

I'll be sharing more Easter looks with you soon, make sure to sign up for my newsletter so you never miss a beat! I hope you have the most fabulous plans for your weekend, I'm currently on the way to Savannah, Georgia for a Bachelorette party! Xo,

#ChaChaEats: Pierogi Lasagna Casserole

Thursday, March 10, 2016

I know what you're thinking, what in the world is a 'Pierogi'?!.. well you're missing out my friend. A pierogi is a polish version of a ravioli. There are different kinds, but Babe & I's personal fave are filled with mashed potatoes and cheese, aka heaven.
My dad used to make them growing up and when I met RJ, he ate them as a child too! I thought this was crazy since it's not an everyday dish. This is one of my favorite splurge meals, I'm a sucker for pasta and for potatoes & when you combine the two, it's like the gates of heaven opening up. *Cue Angels singing*

Last Valentine's Day I had an idea though.. what if I turned our favorite dish into a casserole? (Because all great things in America either get fried or made into a casserole, right?!) Let me tell you, the results were amazing and it was so easy to make.

On Valentine's Day, I went to the store to grab ingredients. Not following a recipe, I was wandering around.. I decided boxed mashed potatoes would be easiest. I loaded up the basket with a few more yummy ingredients (cheese, sour cream, noodles, etc), this must be what carb heaven is like.

One pot, one baking dish and 40 minutes later your belly is about to be extremely happy. The leftovers are even better. I am excited to bring this dish for future holidays and see what my family thinks about it! We made it for friends the other night and they gave it 5 stars as well!

If you want to make this the star of the show and not just an amazing side dish, you can add shredded chicken or cooked ground beef!

^^You can pin this recipe straight to your recipe board by hovering over the image & clicking on the 'Pin Now' button or follow my Pinterest & search under the 'Cookbook' tab.

Our kitchen is almost complete and I'm so excited I got to share a sneak peak with you guys! Babe has a running for the best things I've ever cooked him and he said this is number one. I hope you give it a try and please let me know what you think! Xo,
