Monday Briefing [MAY]

Sometimes I think Monday morning just needs a good time to sit down and chat. Monday's can be rough as it is, so what's better than some hot coffee and a lil' girl time?

one. As some of you may know, I made a new Instagram account. I was only reaching about 2,000 people on my old account (I can see the analytics) and so many of you were saying that you never saw my posts. I have had that instagram account for so long and I think I just had so many inactive, ghost or 'bot' followers (from the days I did a loop giveaway or two or three) and IG was penalizing my reach. I think they are trying to help new accounts grow, which is great but it was also hurting my account.
Anyway, all of that to say, I no longer have the swipe up feature. This is probably the only downside of my new account but I'm hopeful to get back to 10k at some point this year and then it will be back!
If you don't follow my new Instagram, it's no longer @YesPleaseDaily, you'll have to go switch over and follow @RileySitton if you want to continue to see my posts.

two. A few weeks ago, I had a ripe avocado and an intense craving for a chocolate donut. A little Pinterest digging and I just happened to have all the ingredients for these Chocolate Avocado Cookies. Yes, avocado cookies. I know it's strange, but they are actually heaven. Even RJ likes them, and he is SO picky (+ hates avocados). A few recipe notes: I used a food processor to make the dough and it was so much easier, but it's still possible if you don't have one. The recipe calls for dark chocolate cocoa powder, but I use normal and they're still so yummy! Final edit- the author claims they're best cold, but I think they're best if you stick them in the microwave for about 12 seconds before eating one. You have to try them! Get the recipe here and follow my Pinterest while you're there!

three. We spent our Saturday at the river and it was so nice. I still am amazed how gorgeous Chattanooga is and that I get to live here. I used a new tinted sunscreen and I loved it. Even getting in the water and sweating, my face was so protected from the sun. Plus, it has a very light tinted, bronzer color that just adds the bare minimum coverage + glow. I completely forgot to use sunscreen on my back though and it's so burnt haha! At least, I'm hopefully fighting off face wrinkles!

four. Last weekend we binge watched Handmaid Tale's on Hulu. Have you guys seen it? It's seriously so good but also very weird. It was a little confusing at first but at the second or third episode I was hooked. I wish there were more seasons for us to watch with this rainy week ahead. Any suggestions on new shows?

five. We planted a few flowers on our front and back porch this weekend. We are hopefully going to start our garden and flower beds this upcoming weekend and I'm so excited! I shared a few snaps of our flowers on IG stories and so many of you spotted our beloved fire pit. It was one of our first wedding presents and one of my favorites. We use it so often, especially to make peanut butter s'mores! It's from Target about three years ago, but this one is almost identical and a great price! (In fact, I think I like this one better than ours!)

six. Speaking of patios, Hearth and Hand released new items at Target and they have sooo much great garden stuff! I'm DYING for this cooler and I'm definitely picking up some of these little wire baskets to plant in!

How was your weekend? What do you guys think of the Monday briefing, I had a lot of fun writing this and just blabbing away, we may have to make this a more often thing! Tomorrow I'm sharing a Master Bedroom Progress update + more fun things this week. XO
